Brown Butter Bourbon Chocolate Chip Cookies

I don’t know why but for some reason I am really feeling Valentine’s day this year. It could be because of the new little sweetie in my life. I was absolutely obsessed with getting him a bunch of Valentine inspired outfits, I just thought they were all so cute! I should warn my friends and family that my social media might be flooded with pics of my heart adorned little bebe.

This Valentine’s post is actually extra special. I joined a group of awesome bloggers to take part in the Good Cookie Food Bloggers Valentines fundraising event. We are joining forces and blogging our best Valentine’s recipes all while supporting Cookies for Kids Cancer . I can’t think of a better cause to support through my blogging!

Did you know that cancer is the #1 cause of death of children by disease in the U.S.? There are 40,000 U.S. children actively battling cancer right now. With less than 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s budget going to all childhood cancer combined, I knew it was important for me to get involved.

Help us make a difference by donating to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer! Our goal is to raise at least $3000. Because these three companies: Dixie Crystals, Mediavine and OXO have each pledged to match our donations raised through this campaign up to $3000!

When thinking of what to make for this post I decided to make a more adult cookie. Not only did I take the time to brown butter (literally 3 minutes), I even put in a few tablespoons of a nice bourbon. Really, we should encourage more boozy cookies in life. I think Santa might be even more excited to come down the chimney and find a plate of bourbon soaked cookies, haha! These cookies went over really well with the hubby so I have a feeling your sweetie will love them too.

I want to take a quick second to thank the sponsors for this event. I was so excited to come home and find lots of little goodies from the sponsors including 24lbs of brown sugar. Yes, you read that right, 24lbs of brown sugar! OXO must have read my mind because they sent me all the baking essentials. I actually needed a new cookie scoop so thanks OXO!!

It’s great to see that these sponsors are supporting this great event and even greater cause. Thank you OXO, Dixie Crystals, Mediavine, and of course Cookies for Kids Cancer.

A little bit of Valentine fun before we jump into the recipe. I really can’t get enough this year! I am trying to resist the urge to dress the bebe up like cupid, ha!
